Great news! Work has now commenced on the Skerries Street Playground Upgrade – This is the project which got the OCT off the ground some 2 years ago and it is wonderful to see that we have now raised enough funds through our own fundraising events and through grants to be able to complete within our scheduled timeframe before the end of this year!
We are installing equipment for older (10-14 year old) children being an awesome Gyro swing and some Ollie boards, as voted for by the children themselves. This will all be in for the end of the year and in time for the summer holidays.
The Outram Charitable Trust is extremely grateful to the following organisations who have granted money to support this project:
Otago Community Trust, Alexander McMillan Trust,The Masonic Charitable Trust, Mosgiel Taieri Community Board, The Dunedin City Council and AAW Jones.
We are indebted to all these wonderful trusts and groups for supporting our vision and goal and to Su Miller who worked so hard on grant applications to get them all on board.
We’ll be back with some photos of the equipment once it is all installed!
